Bournemouth University embraces and champions the BRIT 2021 Challenge

We are delighted that Bournemouth University are embracing and championing the BRIT 2021 Challenge and uniting with us in support of young adult mental health in the UK.

It has been an absolute please to maintain a special relationship with Bournemouth University that has endured for over nine years.

Last year, we were delighted that Bournemouth University, and the Students' Union at Bournemouth University, showed such enthusiasm for the BRIT 2020 Row Britannia Challenge. They hosted us as part of the 5-month tour of UK universities and colleges, and also hosted one of our BRIT Ambassadors, Sally Kettle, who spent time encouraging and inspiring students and staff taking part in the challenge.

We are sincerely grateful to Ian Jones, Head of External Engagement in the Office of the Vice Chancellor, for all his support. Ian is championing the BRIT 2021 Challenge at the university and throughout the South East of England in order to encourage other universities and colleges to enter teams.

“In 2012 and 2019/20, Bournemouth University successfully hosted, and participated in, British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) events and campaigns, so we are thrilled to be taking on the BRIT 2021 Challenge in support of young adult mental health.

At Bournemouth, our university and Students’ Union will collaborate as Team BU to encourage and enable as many students and staff to take part, be that on campus or at home, and raise as much as we can for BRIT’s mental health charity partners.

Team BU will bring together our Student Union Team with representatives from our Comms, Marketing, Sport and Mental Health Departments so we can make our BRIT 2021 Challenge as successful as possible.

Our Vice-Chancellor is championing our involvement and we will ask our Sporting Alumni for support, engage with our local Business Community and Sports Teams and also encourage our fellow universities and colleges in the South East to take on the BRIT 2021 Challenge.”
