Canterbury Christ Church University & Christ Church Student's Union take on the BRIT 2021 Challenge
We are delighted that Canterbury Christ Church University and Christ Church Students’ Union are joining forces with institutions across the UK to take part in our BRIT 2021 Challenge, to raise awareness and funds to support young adult mental health.
Christ Church is inviting every student and staff member to get involved and students and staff will aim to raise as much money as possible by completing their 2,021 mile targets.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Rama Thirunamachandran, said;
“As a University community we are committed to supporting our students' and staff wellbeing, as well as promoting good mental health.
“The last year has shown us that now, more than ever, we need to be together in supporting everyone within our community. The Row Britannia challenge was successful last year in bringing us together, creating awareness of mental health and the support that is available, and we hope that this year will be no different.
I encourage all students and staff to take up the challenge where possible and unite behind this deserving cause.”
Teams at Christ Church will be registering from today and the University will aim to complete the challenge before 1st July 2021.
Director of Sport, Paul Carney, said:
“Following the success of the Row Britannia challenge at the University last year, we are really excited to be taking part in the BRIT 2021 Challenge.
“In the face of the pandemic and repeated lockdowns, raising awareness of the mental health of young adults has never been more important.
The BRIT 2021 Challenge provides us the opportunity to bring the whole University together behind a shared purpose at this time of social distancing. Everyone around the University responded brilliantly last time, the atmosphere and energy was fantastic. I'm sure we will see a brilliant response again."
We wish every student and staff member good luck in their BRIT 2021 Challenge and reaching their fundraising targets. Thank you for all your super support.
