Alan Rapley OLY - Former GB Swimming Captain

“I am delighted to be part of the BRIT Ambassador family and champion the annual BRIT Challenge to support and improve young adult mental health and fitness.

The BRIT Challenge is a super opportunity for every university, college and Students’ Union to enter teams and encourage their students and staff to take part.

The COVID-19 pandemic has put pressure on mental health support services and it has been a tough time for students and young adults; especially those with existing mental health challenges.

BRIT has an inspiring vision to unite Olympians, Paralympians, sports personalities, adventurers and explorers and, as BRIT Ambassadors, support a university and/or college of their choice. By sharing our lived experience, destigmatising mental health, and encouraging students to take part in the BRIT Challenge, we hope to have a UK-wide impact on improving student mental health and fitness.

The BRIT Challenge has been designed to enable young adults and students of all abilities to participate; I urge my fellow Olympians, Paralympians and elite athletes to join our BRIT Ambassador family and champion the BRIT Challenge at universities and colleges throughout the UK.

I look forward to encouraging students and staff at the University of Warwick to take on the BRIT Challenge”.
