Suzanne Dando BEM - BRIT Ambassador

Over the past ten years, together with her husband Adam, she has been a great friend to BRIT’s Founder, Phil Packer. Their unconditional love and support have enabled Phil to overcome many physical and psychological challenges; they have always been there for Phil and words cannot describe how much their friendship and help means to him, both personally and professionally.

“It has been a pleasure to be part of the BRIT Ambassador family for many years now and to watch how BRIT has developed into the collaborative and influential charity that it has become.

Last year, almost 100 universities and colleges took part in the BRIT 2020 Row Britannia Challenge before the COVID-19 pandemic national lockdown in March. I am delighted that BRIT have received overwhelming support from the charity, education and sport sectors to deliver an annual challenge for young adults throughout the UK.

At the core of BRIT’s vision is the delivery of inspiration to support and improve young adult mental health. Olympians, Paralympians, sports personalities, adventurers and explorers continue to join the BRIT Ambassador family. The positive impact they can have by uniting, championing BRIT’s annual challenges and encouraging participation could be extraordinary. If there was ever a time for current and retired athletes to inspire, enthuse and support students, it is now.

The BRIT 2021 Challenge is inviting every university and college to enter teams and encourage student and staff participation. The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting us all and I urge university and college staff to take part with their students; improving our mental health and fitness is vital and we all need to look after ourselves during this challenging time.

I hope to encourage the University of Oxford and the Isle of Wight College to embrace the BRIT 2021 Challenge so that all their students and staff have the opportunity to take part.”
