Scottish & English Hospitality, Kindness and Generosity

Our aspiration to personally thank the 450 universities and colleges throughout the UK who have been invited to enter teams and Row Britannia is a huge undertaking and a vital one. We want to thank, encourage and inspire the students and staff who are taking part to fundraising and raising awareness.

We intend to visit over 200 host locations in 100 days and have asked every UK University (& Colleges) to act as hosts for our visits so they can invite their local colleges in on the day we visit with our British Sporting Icons or Mental Health Ambassadors.

We have completed our visits in Scotland (although we will be asking British Sporting Icons to visit every Scottish Host Location before the 13th March 2020 and make a special visit).

We are doing all we can to reduce operational costs. The English and Scottish Hotels, who supported Row Britannia as we made our way to Scotland, visited the Scottish Host Universities & Colleges and then made our way to Chester, via Leeds, have shown extraordinary warmth, kindness and generosity. Many of them have gifted accommodation for free and the remainder have reduced their rates considerably. This support means that our operational costs are kept to a minimum. Thank you so much to all the English and Scottish Hotels who looked after us on our tour of Scotland and then headed to Chester, via Leeds;

Moat House, Stafford

Sherbrooke Castle Hotel, Glasgow

Melville Castle Hotel, Edinburgh

Stirling Court Hotel, Stirling

Rufflets, St Andrews

Golf View and Spa, Nairn

Inverlochy Castle Hotel, Fort William

Savoy Park Hotel, Ayr

Woodland House Hotel, Dumfries

Oulton Hall Hotel, Leeds

Rowton Hall Hotel, Chester

Your generosity and kindness were unexpected and sincerely appreciated. Thank you to all your staff who supported Row Britannia and made us feel so welcome.

We've covered 1,600miles to visit every Scottish Host University and College - the warmth, kindness and generosity from English and Scottish Hotels has been fantastic
