Teesside University embrace and champion the BRIT 2021 Challenge

We are delighted that Teesside University are embracing the BRIT 2021 Challenge and uniting with us to support and improve young adult mental health in the UK.

It was a pleasure to visit the university, as part of our 5-month BRIT 2020 Row Britannia Challenge tour of UK universities and colleges, and meet Professor Mark Simpson, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching), Rosie Jones, Director of Student & Library Services, Jo Heaton-Marriott, Director of Corporate Communications & Public Relations and George Reeves, President (Activities) of the Students' Union.

We are sincerely grateful to Tina Hannon, Executive Assistant to Professor Mark Simpson, for all her assistance, and to Professor Peter Croney, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Teesside University for all his support.

"The BRIT 2020 Row Britannia Challenge presented an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of mental health and fitness, and Teesside University was pleased to take a team approach to raising funds, in partnership with our Students’ Union.

Unfortunately, the evolving COVID-19 pandemic limited our involvement in last year’s challenge, and we are delighted to have another opportunity to take part.

At a time when the safety, health and wellbeing of our students is our top priority, the BRIT 2021 Challenge offers an inclusive way to engage our University community, on campus or at home.

We will encourage Team Teesside to take part to raise vital funds for charities who continue to provide essential support to our students during these challenging times."
