Thank you to The Charlie Waller Trust for partnering with BRIT for the BRIT 2021 Challenge

We were delighted to partner with The Charlie Waller Trust this year who were one of five charities benefiting from funds raised by university and college teams taking part in the BRIT 2021 Challenge.

Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students and staff, the majority of whom were taking part at home and away from their campuses, 85 university and college teams took on the BRIT 2021 Challenge.

We know fundraising was extremely difficult this year and appreciate the efforts of every student and staff member who raised vital funds for our charity partners, including The Charlie Waller Trust.

The annual BRIT Challenge is delivered to support and improve the mental health and fitness of young adults throughout the UK; by taking part in the BRIT 2021 Challenge, every student and staff member has also been raising awareness of The Charlie Waller Trust and the tremendous support they provide to young adults throughout the UK and their work with schools, colleges and universities.

The Charlie Waller Trust's Vision is of a world where people understand and talk openly about mental health, where young people and those who support them are equipped to maintain and enhance their mental health and wellbeing, and have the confidence to seek help when they need it.

Since their creation in 1997, The Charlie Waller Trust have become one of the UK’s most respected mental health charities.

Their overarching mission is to educate young people and those with responsibility for them - so parents and carers, teachers, college and university staff, employers, GPs and Practice Nurses - about their mental health and wellbeing.

Pre-BRIT 2021 Challenge, Clare Stafford, CEO of The Charlie Waller Trust said;

“We very much admire what The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) is trying to achieve through this collaborative approach; we are particularly excited about the potential of the BRIT 2021 Challenge in helping support mental wellbeing in further education colleges, which work with some of the more disadvantaged young people in our society.

We are delighted to be an equal beneficiary of funds raised through the BRIT 2021 Challenge.
